RV Insurance

You’re thinking about buying an RV and living a bit of the good life. My hat’s off to you. There’s nothing like cruising the highways and byways of the nation in an RV. But, before you go, you have to prepare and of course that means RV insurance. Used RV Buyer's Guide!

Today an RV purchase is quite an investment and one that needs to be protected at all cost. You will want to think about covering your personal belongings in the RV. That means your clothes, furnishings, and any personal items that may be on board.

What about if you break down somewhere? Having an RV towed requires a towing service with big enough equipment to get the job done. You’ll want to get an emergency roadside service of some kind to cover those situations. A lot of RV owners use a service called the Good Sam Club. Check with any camper dealer for details.

You’ll need to be familiar with your policy and know what is and is not covered before starting on your trip.Full Time RV Freedom!

When you are shopping for RV insurance compare all options. How easy are they to contact in case of an emergency? Do they specialize in insurance for RV owners and are they set up for quick response? Nothing is worse than being stranded when on the road.

24 hour service is essential for speedy response. Once you find a reliable company with good rates, talk to other RV owners about any experience they’ve had with the company. And who do they recommend?

Always do a complete check up of your RV before taking a trip and your need for emergency help will be reduced a lot.

The company who insures your automobiles can also more than likely insure your RV, but there are companies that specialize in RV insurance who may offer you a better choice and/or price.

You also can check your current homeowners policy to see if you are covered if your RV is just used every now and then and not on a regular basis. If you do plan to live in it you’ll have to get coverage for that.

The main thing to remember is that you do have to have insurance. Don’t move your RV without it. Can you imagine the expense involved if you had a serious accident and was not covered? Recreational vehicles are usually a lot more expensive to repair than a car or truck would be.

But when you see what fun it is to have one and realize how much they add to our traveling experience, they are well worth it. Ask anyone who has one and travels in it.

So enjoy your RV and live the good life. Just make sure you have RV insurance before you go.
