Well, the best way is the campground guides that you will find online or at your camper dealer. Trailer Life is one, and the famous Woodall’s is another. You will find directions and information about each facility and they will even rate them for how clean they are.

You will also notice if they have a pool or playground for the kids. And if you don’t want to spend the night but just empty your tanks and fill up with water you can usually pay a small fee and do that. As more and more people fall in love with recreational vehicles and the RV way of life, more and more top quality RV Parks and campgrounds are popping up accross the country.

To save money you may want to look at joining an RV club where you get discounts. A popular one is Good Sam’s Club where members get a percentage off on some overnight prices at member facilities.

Another way to cut corners is by limiting your hookups to only what you need. Also if you stay at a park that is off the main roads you can usually get by cheaper. If you plan on doing that be sure and stop earlier before dark so you can see to get into the place without a lot of difficulty. The books that list the RV sites will give you directions usually.

Remember in the busiest times of the year it is a good idea to make reservations at most parks if you can. This will take some planning on your part but it assures you will have a place.  You may want to reserve a drive-thru space if you have a long motorhome or you pull a vehicle in tow. Of course, if your RV is self-contained this is not as much of a problem. You can spend the night in a mall or super store parking lot and have everything you need. In fact, a lot of big stores welcome that because they know you'll probably wonder inside and do some shopping while you're there.  

And if you are on the internet a lot you’ll want to check about their internet and wifi connections. Also talking to other fellow campers about their park recommendations can be very helpful. Campers are a friendly group who love to recommend good places to other campers. Respond by telling them about good parks you’ve stayed in.   

It is also a good idea to check online for discount coupons offered by some of the large campground chains like KOA.  A well kept and maintained RV park can be a real pleasure to stay at and enjoy. There’s a whole world awaiting you.
